How does The Word One to One work?
The Word One to One is a guided read-through of John’s Gospel and Acts.
John’s Gospel, an eyewitness account of the life of Jesus, is a great place to start when introducing someone to Jesus. The Word One to One presents the Bible text verse-by-verse alongside helpful notes that guide your conversation, and takes you through John’s Gospel and Acts in bite-sized episodes.
The notes are designed to be read with a friend and contain all you need to guide you through the book.
Who is it written for?
Everyone! The Word One to One is designed for people of any age, stage or background who are not yet Christians. The notes don’t make any assumptions that you’ve read the Bible before or know what Christians believe. The language is simple and can be understood by English second language speakers.
Why John’s Gospel?
John states that he wrote his gospel so that people may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and by believing may have eternal life in His name (John 20:31).
It’s a great book for being introduced to the Jesus of history. It’s helps us understand what real faith looks like. It helps us understand and receive the life He offers.
It also begins with an 18 sentence overview which is a powerful introduction to the Christian message.
Who writes the notes?
The Word One to One was developed by a group of ordinary Christians in London who wanted to help their friends, family and colleagues engage with the message of the Bible. The latest format was written by Richard Borgonon (a Christian businessman) and William Taylor (a church minister). See the story here.
Do you have other books of the Bible?
Yes, the same accessible format is also available for the book of Acts.
Which translations do you have?
